Saluting the sun as soon as we wake up is what Surya namaskar was initially designed ( in ancient times) keeping the spirituality of audience in mind but did I tell you the associated infinite health benefits it gives to human body?
Let me first tell you why I have so much of faith in this asana. To conceive a baby might not be difficult for others but for around a year and half later of taking prescribed and over the counter medicines I had just lost all hopes of becoming a mother.
With the current lifestyle that we have, reason was pretty common “hormonal imbalance” and this was only going to get fixed by my body getting back to normal.
I researched and found yoga as one powerful option to work on my overall health and eventually learnt about Surya namaskar and decided to give it a try at least for a couple of months without taking any medicines and to my surprise it worked in no time.
12 sets of this asana are equivalent to doing 288 yoga poses. Surya Namaskar if done at a fast pace is a good workout for your cardiovascular system, and when done slowly, it relaxes the muscles and is considered a form of mediation, so you are good to do in whichever pace you feel comfortable.
12 sets take a maximum 15 minutes, and you are done for the day. You burn approximately 14 calories per round which is way too better than walking.
